Kerrang Press Pack / Audience
When opening the kerrang Press Pack, apart from the first page being just an image saying kerrang, the second page is something called “Why Advertise” this page is basically a slide which is full of all the facts and general information you’d want to know, such as the median age, being 22, how many people read kerrang, being 404,000** and such. With this, the layout looks very simple and easy to read, you have got quite based fonts, colours, and such, where the audience see what they want and fast, and if you really don't want to read, the facts are placed to the left of the page, in bullet point form.
The third slide is named “The Mission”. This slide is where we can see what the aim of kerrang is, and why they make kerrang, again, the font is nicely sized and coloured, to the point where keywords are even highlighted for you, looking appealing for the eye as well as really exaggerating the point they're trying to get across, This whole page was written by an important editor, Nichola Browne (Which is placed at the bottom of the text)
The next page is then a page where kerrang have gone out and asked someone who readers kerrang their opinion on the magazine, and what they do, as a job, for their hobbies, etc, this helps kerrang to know who exactly there audience are, what they work at, their income as an average, so they can really base their magazine off the surveys and constantly improve the magazine to fit in with the trends. The layout again is very nice and simple - black and white font, the small font is still so clear to read, and the masthead being noticeable with the magazine named “Kerrang” in.
The “Influence” slide is one of my favourites, the magazine have done a slide based off of where they got their influences from, this slide also gives an idea of the type of give-aways they do as a whole. Their is then a slide called the idea, which explains how their publisher will combine with the magazine to combine skills and give aways to really engage young people to read the magazine, as they are the main target audience.
The following slide, “Ad schedule” just gives the reader how much and how long kerrang spend on advertising every year or month, the slide also provides information for when magazines are sold and when the deadline is to buy the magazine, they usually leave around a 16 day gap for the magazine to be brought before the deadline hits. The following two or three slides down goes into Ad specs and advertising rates into detail., explaining prices and sizes, etc.
The slide after this offers information about social networking, it offers the site name, the amount of twitter followers they have, facebook likes as well, which can help to find out which of the sites is more popular, which is the easier to grab the attention of the target audience is, and more.
The last page of the press pack is a contact page, with addresses and phone numbers which you can contact anyone on if needed.
