Rock Sound Analysis
This front page of Rock Sound magazine is laid out so that the first thing you notice is the image of 'Calum Hood' and the masthead - 5SOS. This immediately will entice that fanbase into picking up the magazine and possibly buying. This image is placed in the centre, meaning that text is either surrounding the main image or is on top, the image is also placed over the name of the magazine showing his importance. The pose he is doing is quite relaxed or 'silly' showing that the article based on 5 seconds of summer is a more relaxed feed. The lighting is quite balanced, therefore there is no enhanced shadows or highlights. What he is wearing is also quite laid-back, aka just a vest and some wrist bands.
The Use of fonts on the cover of this magazine changes depending on what's being written. For example, the font will change when the band name is written, compare to what font is used for the brand of the magazine. Overall, the font for the magazine looks quite messy, italic and unsophisticated. The only area where the font looks organised is where they are advertising the free posters. The layout of the magazine follows the same route, quite unorganised and placed differently to how, per say, vibe. With this, the text is not specifically placed on either the left or the right, in columns, its just placed conveniently, there's also nothing on the front cover which links to the contents, nothing which advertises what the rest of the magazine holds, apart from the quote placed "not everyone's going to like us" which suggests what their article will be based on.
