Photoshop workshop notes

Photoshop workshop

1)      File -> New ( International paper / A4 )

2)      Open rulers for correct measurements, this will allow gaps for things in your magazines such as mastheads which can overlap the boarder and also skylines.

3)      Go on curser, drag arrow to 0.5 (1) all the way round the paper to create a boarder, this boarder must be 5cm wide in both sides of paper.

4)      Open a new tab for things such as your first image, this will open a completely separate page with that image etc on it, with this, you can either edit your image or drag the image using the curser tool and drag it back onto the other page.
5)      When editing, always make sure you label or name your layers, as well as this, always keep your layer tab open in case you want to move around your images or place text OVER a layer etc.
6)      Make sure layers are unlocked – this allows further editing

7)      For example – Pull out image, when layer is unlocked, and drag onto other page, and the image should appear.

8)        Ctrl + t = Transform button  (always hold shift, this allows correct resizing)
9)      Once your happy with the transformation, press enter
10)   Text tool – allows text to be placed onto the image, can also use ctrl +t to resize text

Clicking the eye to the left side of a layer will hide the layer, vice versa, if you click the eye again.
